Compare two cities

Karachi is the same time as Lahore.

About this tool

Each city card reads the current time in that city's IANA timezone directly from the browser, using Intl.DateTimeFormat — no city's time is ever fetched from a server, and no UTC offset is hardcoded, so daylight saving transitions are always reflected correctly.

How to use it

  1. Search for a city, country, or timezone and press "Add city" to add it to your board.
  2. Use the ▲ / ▼ buttons to reorder cities, or the Remove button to drop one.
  3. Toggle 12/24-hour format, seconds, and date display for the whole board.
  4. Pick two cities in "Compare two cities" to see their live time difference.

FAQ

Why are UTC offsets not hardcoded?

Many places observe daylight saving time, which changes their UTC offset twice a year, and the rules themselves occasionally change. Every offset here is read live from the browser's own IANA timezone database via Intl, so it is always correct for today's date rather than frozen at build time.

How is day vs. night decided?

From each city's current local hour (06:00–17:59 counts as day). This is a simple, fast heuristic — not an astronomical sunrise/sunset calculation, so it can be off by an hour or two near dawn/dusk or at extreme latitudes.

Is my city list saved?

Yes, in this browser's local storage only, so it survives a refresh. Nothing is sent to a server. Use "Reset to default cities" to start over.
