Text ↔ Binary Converter
Convert text into binary (8 bits per byte) and binary back into text — using UTF-8 byte encoding, so non-English text converts correctly instead of breaking.

About this tool
Converts text to binary using UTF-8 bytes (8 bits per byte), and binary back to text — so accented letters, other scripts, and emoji round-trip correctly.
How to use it
- Choose a direction: Text → Binary, or Binary → Text.
- Pick how the binary values are separated.
- Type your input and read the result live.
FAQ
Why UTF-8 bytes instead of one bit per character?
Plain ASCII fits in 7 bits, but most real-world text includes characters (accents, other scripts, emoji) that need more than one byte. UTF-8 handles all of Unicode correctly, so that's what this tool uses.
How many bits is each binary group?
Always 8 bits — one byte. Continuous binary (no separator) must therefore be a multiple of 8 bits long.
What happens with invalid binary, like a value that isn't 0s and 1s?
You'll get a clear, specific error message identifying the invalid value instead of a silent failure.
