FAQ
Do I have to use a regular expression?
No — plain text search and replace mode is available and matches your text literally, with an optional case-insensitive toggle.
What do Global, Case-insensitive, Multiline, and Dot-matches-newline mean?
Global finds every match instead of stopping at the first. Case-insensitive ignores letter case. Multiline makes ^ and $ match the start/end of each line. Dot-matches-newline makes '.' also match line breaks.
What happens with an invalid regular expression?
You'll see a plain 'Invalid regular expression' message instead of a technical error.
Why did it warn me about my pattern before running it?
Some patterns (like nested repeating groups) can take an extremely long time to run against certain text — a phenomenon called catastrophic backtracking. The tool detects common risky shapes and asks you to confirm before running them.
