Google SERP Preview

See how your title, description, and URL may look in Google search.

A live desktop and mobile simulation of a Google organic result, with character counts and an approximate pixel width so you can spot titles and descriptions that are likely to be cut off.

Everything updates in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere. This is a preview/simulation and is not affiliated with Google.

Empty · 0 charsAim for roughly 30–60 characters. Add a title — Google needs something to show.
Empty · 0 charsAim for roughly 70–160 characters. No description — Google will build a snippet from the page instead.

Google often replaces the description with its own snippet — treat this as a suggestion.

What a SERP preview is

A SERP (search engine results page) preview is a mock-up of how a page might appear in Google’s organic results, built from the page’s meta title, meta description, and URL. It helps you judge length and phrasing before publishing — for example, whether a title is likely to be cut off, or whether a description actually says what the page offers.

This tool renders that mock-up with CSS and updates it live as you type. Nothing is sent anywhere, and it is a preview only — Google decides what to actually display.

Why there is no single character limit

Google truncates by rendered pixel width, not a character count, and where it cuts depends on the font, the device, and the query. A title of narrow letters fits more characters than one of wide letters. This tool shows an approximate pixel width and a status — Good, Potentially long, Very long — rather than pretending there is an exact cut-off.

Google may rewrite what you write

Studies and Google’s own documentation are clear that Google frequently rewrites titles and, especially, replaces meta descriptions with a snippet drawn from the page that better matches the searcher’s query. Write a good title and description anyway — they are still the starting point — but treat the preview as one possible outcome, not a guarantee.

How to use it

  1. Type or paste your meta title, meta description, and URL.
  2. Switch between the Desktop and Mobile views.
  3. Watch the character count, approximate pixel width, and status for each field.
  4. Use the copy buttons to take the final values back to your CMS.

FAQ

Is this the real Google result?

No. It is a CSS simulation. Real results vary by query, device, location, language, personalisation, and Google’s own rewriting.

Are the “Quick checks” Google ranking factors?

No. They are simple length and tidiness checks to help you write, not ranking signals.

Is my input stored or sent anywhere?

No. It stays in your browser. There is no account and no server call.
