FAQ
How long should a title tag be?
There's no single hard limit — Google truncates by rendered pixel width, not a fixed character count, and the exact cutoff varies by device and font. This tool uses a widely-cited character range as a practical guideline and adds a pixel-width estimate as a second, independent check.
Does keyword position in the title matter?
Placing an important keyword earlier in the title is a commonly recommended practice for both readability and topical clarity, though it is not a strict, confirmed ranking rule.
Will Google always show my exact title?
No — Google sometimes rewrites the displayed title using other page content when it judges the original title unclear, too long, or a poor match for the query. This tool's search preview is a simulation, not a guarantee.
What are the rewrite suggestions based on?
Local, rule-based heuristics (length, keyword placement, brand placement, readability) — not an AI model and not a guarantee of a better result. Always sanity-check a suggestion against your own judgment before using it.
Why do I see both a character count and a pixel estimate?
Characters are simple to measure but every character doesn't take the same rendered width (an "i" is much narrower than a "W"). The pixel estimate is a second, complementary signal — and is itself only an approximation, not an exact measurement.
