Favicon Checker

Enter a URL or paste a page's HTML source to see every favicon and app-icon declaration it has — standard icon, Apple touch icon, and manifest — with a live preview of each.

Most third-party sites block this kind of direct cross-origin request. If fetching fails, switch to "Paste source instead".

FAQ

What counts as a favicon?

The small icon browsers show in a tab, bookmark, and history entry, usually declared with <link rel="icon" href="…">. Related declarations cover the icon Safari uses on iOS home screens (apple-touch-icon) and icons a Progressive Web App manifest can define.

What happens if no favicon is declared in the HTML?

Most browsers will still automatically try /favicon.ico at the site root as a fallback, but that isn't checked here since it isn't linked from the page itself — an explicit <link rel="icon"> is the safer, more portable approach.

Why check for HTTPS specifically?

A favicon served over plain http:// on an https:// page is mixed content, which some browsers will silently block, leaving the tab without an icon.

Do I need every icon type?

No — a standard favicon covers the common case. apple-touch-icon and manifest icons matter more if visitors are likely to bookmark your site to a phone home screen or install it as a PWA.

Can I check a page that blocks automated requests?

Yes — paste the page's HTML source (View Source) directly instead of using the URL fetch.
